Why Altes Meridian
SAS under French law for EU buyers and L/C management. SARL CI for local procurement and export operations in Abidjan. This dual structure gives us access and credibility that no single-jurisdiction firm can match.
The CFA franc has been pegged to the euro since 1999. We buy in FCFA and invoice in EUR or USD. No hedging required, no forex exposure on either side of the transaction.
The EU–Africa Economic Partnership Agreement grants zero-tariff access to the EU market for Ivorian-origin goods. A structural cost advantage over Asian and Latin American suppliers on identical commodities.
Every transaction is structured around irrevocable Letters of Credit confirmed through Société Générale Trade Finance France. No payment risk for sellers. No delivery risk for buyers. The L/C is the contract.

Operational base. Our SARL CI entity sources agricultural products directly from certified cooperatives and frozen seafood at quayside from the Treichville fishing terminal. Licensed cold storage, HACCP management, and full export documentation under DPH and GUCE frameworks.
Paris · France
Commercial base. Altes Meridian SAS contracts with buyers across the European Union under French law. All Letters of Credit are received and confirmed through Société Générale Trade Finance. EORI registered. 0% customs duty on Ivorian-origin goods under the EPA.
Dubai · GCC & Asia Pacific
Development base. Dubai anchors our Middle East and Asia strategy — GCC buyers, re-export routes to South and East Asia, and access to DMCC commodity infrastructure. We are actively building banking relationships and buyer networks in the UAE to serve this growing corridor.
